Fernando Calvo
Manager of Digital Home Services, R&D, Telefonica
Since joining Telefonica Research & Development in 1995 Fernando has worked on various projects: Interactive TV Division (1995-1998), Imagenio Project (1999-2000), Broadband cities (2001-2002), and Manager of Broadband Services and Platforms (2002-2006). In this role he is in charge of the investigation, innovation & development of new platforms and services over xDSL lines. Some of the main projects carried out: are

MundoADSL (www.mundoadsl.net), premium zone with value added services created by Telefonica in Spain.

Speedy services, real time flexible rating for ADSL access services deployed for the fixed operators in South America (Sao Paulo, Argentina, Chile & Peru).

Streaming network services for third parties, following the strategy of broadening the services in the broadband area, Telefonica is working in exporting network services so that third parties can build their own services powered by Telefonica capabilities.
Fernando is currently Manager of Digital Home Services, where he manages Innovation Projects focused on Digital Home, trying to provide the anticipated vision and key strategic services in the complex Home environment from a telco point of view.
