Speaker Biography
Johan Wickman
SVP, Head of R&D TeliaSonera AB
Johan Wickman is Senior Vice President, Head of R&D at Telia Sonera AB - the Nordic & Baltic Telecommunications leader. His responsibilities covers management of R&D activities and resources within the group including CTO functions (Standardisation, strategic partnerships, IPR etc). In the ongoing restructuring of the group he is responsible for establishing the R&D unit within Business Area Mobility Services. A key focus over the last year has been to bring R&D closer to the market. As a result he has introduced a new method and arena for soft launching R&D results called TeliaSonera Innovation World.
Mr Wickman’s background includes Master of Science education in Engineering Physcis from Chalmers Technical University. Since 1988 he has been working in the area of Mobile and broadband communications. Initially at Ericsson AB followed by various positions in the Telia group including Mobile communications researcher (more than 20 patents), building up of emerging R&D units, Head of Strategic Business Development and Head of Strategic Partnerships.
