Speaker Biography

Stephen StokolsStephen Stokols
Vice President of Strategy & Business Development, BT

Stephen currently serves as BT’s Vice President of Strategy and Business Development. He joined BT in 2004 as its Director of eChannels, leading BT’s 400 person online organization where he increased eCommerce revenues 300%, customer satisfaction 50% and self service levels 120%. In Jan 2006, Stephen was promoted to his current position with a focus on identifying disruptive business models and bringing to market progressive revenue streams. In this role, Stephen not only leads strategy and business development efforts, but also drives execution of BT’s disruptive mass market initiatives. To date, he has lead initiatives putting BT in the forefront of online communications, user generated content, online advertising and open WiFi.

Prior to his role with BT, Stephen served as the Director of Channel Strategy at Qwest. Stephen started his career in Accenture’s Strategy group where he helped build its eBusiness practice. From Accenture, Stephen went on to co-found an online start-up, profitably sold in March, 2000. He subsequently headed strategy for AltaVista and worked in venture capital for CMGI.

Stephen holds a MBA from UC Berkeley, a Masters in Finance from London Business School and a Bachelors of Science with Honours from University of Arizona.
