George Hadjigeorgiou is the General Manager of Communications and Community Products for Yahoo! in Europe. He oversees the company's communications portfolio in Europe which represent some of the most popular destinations on the web and include Yahoo! Mail, one of the largest Web mail service in world* and Flickr, one of the world's largest online photo sharing communities.
George joined Yahoo! in April 2004 as a senior member of the Corporate Development team in Europe. Within this capacity, George was involved in a number of successful M&A and strategy projects.
Prior to joining Yahoo!, George was a Senior Manager at the Strategy Consulting practice of Accenture where he was advising senior management of global corporations on Corporate Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions, both pre-deal strategy and post merger integration. Earlier in his career, George was involved in two internet start-ups.
George graduated first in his class (Summa Cum Laude) from Tufts University with a Double Major in Mechanical Engineering and Economics and later received an MSc in Mechanical Engineering (with highest honours) from MIT.
