Luis Carlos Fernández González is a Telecommunication Engineer certified by the Technical High School of Telecommunication Engineer of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (1981), from September 2005 he is fulfilling the role of Director of the Telefónica´s R&D e-health centre in Granada, Spain.
He began his career as a Professor in the Computer Sciences Faculty in Madrid, during that period also collaborating in the Leonardo Torres Quevedo Institute within the CSIC (Spanish National Research Council) on subjects related to applications in cryptography and speech process.
In 1983 he joined Telefónica´s R&D department, working in Digital Signal Processing orientated to applied investigation. During this time he worked to promote the creation of Signal Processing within Telefónica´s R&D department, living various speeches and publishing various papers at a national and international level.
From 1990 he worked for Telefónica Soluciones in the area of Defense and application of Digital Processing.
In 1999 named as the Solution Manager for the Commercial area of Telefónica de España collaborating in subjects related with service provision in rural areas. Also in sectorial applications such as Healthcare, Education and Public Administration.
In 2003, selected to be the Advanced Communications Manager in the Business Development and Strategy management group of Telefónica de España. In this role he was working in Business Development with WiFi and VoIP amongst others.
In September 2005 he joined Telefónica R&D as Director of the Telefónica´s R&D e-health centre in Granada.
