Stuart Hill
CEO of N3SP and Client Managing Director of Health Sales
BT Global Services
The National Health Service has entered a new era. Modern, sophisticated IT is giving their staff information they need at the touch of a button. This means they can deliver even better care for patients. At the vanguard of health IT services, BT Health is helping the NHS to harness this new technology through its work on component parts of the National Programme for IT (NPfIT). As CEO of N3SP and Client Managing Director of Health Sales, Stuart Hill is working closely with the NHS to help it realise its IT potential, both within and beyond the NPfIT.
Stuart’s career at BT spans over 30 years, covering senior roles in sales, marketing, and Government and he has a proven track record in managing and turning around significant customer relationships.
Stuart joined the N3SP team in April 2006 from his role in UKMC as Vice President – Corporate Mid Market (CMM). During his two years at CMM he significantly grew revenues, operating profit and margin, whilst building a cohesive and motivated unit focused on the business needs of the middle market customer.
Stuart was chosen to lead the N3SP and Health Sales teams due to his strong sales experience in both UK Major Customers and Global Solutions; many years experience with central Government; and a proven track record for success. It is Stuart's diverse skill set and enthusiasm for success and people that will drive BT Health forward as a world class service organisation.
"The NHS is delivering huge reforms in order to modernise the health service, with technology playing a central role," says Stuart. "And this role is only going to increase as we progress further into the global network economy, bringing with it boundless opportunities for the healthcare market. As a professional services provider we aim to lead the way in this area, working in partnership with the NHS and the wider health industry, to help them realise their potential."
The N3 network in England was completed two months ahead of schedule in February 2007 after hitting 18,000 connections. There are now over 20,000 connections and the N3 network in Scotland is over two-thirds complete.
Recently the N3 network has been enabled to carry voice traffic, heralding an exciting time for the NHS and offering a range of innovative and cost-effective solutions. Benefits include free on-net calls across the N3 Network to other N3-voice connected sites and reduced fixed-to-mobile charges, via the N3 Fixed to Mobile Gateway.
Stuart’s focus is on providing the NHS with solutions and technology that will help to cut the wait to treatment times to 18 weeks, which is great news for the country, as BT’s solutions are helping to modernise England’s most valued public service, making a real difference to peoples’ lives every day.
