Speaker Biography
Baldewijn Westerbeek
Manager New Infrastructure, Broadband Services, KPN
Baldewijn heads a department in the KPN wholesale division that's commercially responsible for the fibre deployment in the Netherlands. One of the departments main targets is to decide which technology to use (FttC, FttH or other FttX solutions) and where to deploy the next generation networks first to get optimal revenues. A second challenge is to design and implement a marketing strategy aimed at the end-users of the new fiber network, to promote the network and to maximise the network utilisation.
Baldewijn Westerbeek has been working for KPN since 1999. He started as a consultant in international business development, but is since 2001 involved in the Wholesale business at KPN. He was responsible for the design and commercial implementation of the Bitstream Access DSL products, which were the basis for the Wholesale Broadband portfolio on offer by KPN nowadays. Prior to KPN Baldewijn worked for Rabobank. Baldewijn holds degrees in economics and business information technology.
