Steve Hurdle
Programme Director for the BT Wireless Cities Programme, BT
An experienced international executive with over 25 years of experience in Telecommunications and Information Technology at senior levels. Steve has extensive knowledge of both national and international telecommunications business operations, and managing diverse multi-national teams in extremely challenging commercial environments.
He has held senior executive responsibility in global corporations and start-up ventures, including direct executive responsibility for customer and network operations management, business development, international joint venture development and major business transformation programmes.
Steve has held various senior management positions with BT, including direct customer-facing operational management at local, regional and international levels as Managing Director of BT Worldwide Netherlands b.v in Amsterdam. In addition Steve also has extensive experience of strategic communications network developments with the BT global joint-venture Concert, and as a Director of the BT ‘Farland’ pan European fibre network.
After extensive international experience with BT Europe, his recent executive responsibilities include Operations Director for World Telecom and appointment to the Executive Board of start-up venture Hostmark as Services Director. As founder of an independent technology consulting practice Hallelujah Consulting in July 2001, Steve has led several major business consulting and transformation programmes including Mentor International, Datapoint, Quintessentially, BT Global Services and lastminute.com.
Since returning to BT in May 2006, Steve has been responsible as Programme Director for the BT Wireless Cities Programme, a strategic BT programme to develop wireless networks in the UK’s major cities. Steve holds a First Class Honours Degree in Physics and is an Alumni member of London Business School.
